Very high finishes can be obtained with the addition of a burnishing compound. Use three to five parts of media to one part of work pieces by volume for general ferrous work (3:1 for steel, 5:1 for magnesium or aluminum). By increasing the ratio or the media, the finish will be finer. Do not use or mix steel burnishing shot with abrasive media.
