Oct 08, 2016 · Most pulleys take a B-57 for a loose belt or a B-56 for a tight, both work. I have tried both and personally prefer tight as there seems to be less damage when a band breaks or comes off the wheels. Shop band saws use a crowned flat pulley with a thin flat glued on rubber tire. Others use a crowned steel/cast iron wheel.

Apr 13, 2007 · I hear about injuries and deaths all too frequently from people using the wrong speed grinding disc or wheel. Also never use one for any thing other than what is intended. A grinding disc aint made for cutting or vise versa a cutting disc. . Both can explode as Tom mentioned. Side grinding on a grinder wheel can have the same effect.
